I'm still racking my brain attempting to work out everything thats gonna happen in my film next year, but every now and then something sticks and i feel a bit happy.
This first picture is one of what will become many incarnations of the guard trying to stop a certain prisoner from wreaking havok upon the whole city. (the entire scale of my film upped itself ten-fold as soon as i though how fun a city could be if it were being thrown into other realities)
And this is the girl responsible, but will likely not look anything like this in a years time.
I might do some location concept things soon. But probly just more bendy people.
Double Face
Iv been trying out faces and hairstyles for my character for next year, who as of now is called InterDimensionalGirl. My brain still hurts when i start trying to work out this story, but there's still time so s'all gooood.
I quite like the little button type nose, and a different shapes for her eye hole places.
At the moment im thinking of having about 5 different settings in this film, each with its own aesthetic look so all the characters will change to fit in with wherever they are. that probably makes no sense. I do have some cool concept stuff for when things begin to go nuts so look out for that soon.

Swamp Monstaaaarggh!
Big Face
Colours! Electric Boogaloo
My film last year had quite a limited palette, it was all sandy browns and rusty blue, i think my film next year will be different. I want to use lots of vivid colours that will dazzle the eyeballs. I'm still making my way through a backlog of doodles so I'm trying to colour a few each day.
I'm also working on some animation so I'm sure that will find its way onto here in the next week or so.
Summer Doodles
So I'm back in Cardiff after a couple of weeks away, I spent most nights doodling in some capacity because I remember how bad it felt starting second year after taking a few months off and not being able to do anything.
My plan for the next few weeks is to animate a few quick bits over the summer, experimenting with different styles and trying to lock in an idea for a film for next year. I have found some bits of dialogue that I should be able to start animating to this week.
I know its cheating to base the character you animate on the person the dialogue is taken from but its only a quick sentance or to so who's it hurting?
My first little doodle, taken from about 80+ pages of drawings that still need to be scanned and coloured, is a little Joseph Gordon-Levitt portrait i did over the weekend, i think i ended up with about 20 different expressions but this one will do for now.
This second pic is one of many I drew while I was back home, I'm still swirling ideas for next year around in my head but there are certain elements that I know I want to include. After having a male protagonist last year i thought i should change things up. I want my character to be feisty and tough, but young enough to be out of her depth among whoever she ends up against. At the moment I'm going for crazy action crossed with some sci fi elements.
Anyway, here's my first go at drawing what my brain makes, any feedback would be cool too.
and P.S. she will have legs. I just didnt draw them this time...
